Hello to everyone from all of us at the Licking Senior Center. I trust everyone had a great week. I know I’m still trying to get use to this time change.
We were very sad to hear about the loss of our dear friend Kay Sullins. Please keep her family in your prayers.
It was a very interesting week at the senior center. We finally got to have a board meeting. There was an election for new board members, and here is a list of new board members.
Cynthia Wampner- President
Dot Pursifull- Vice-President
Lillian Maxey-Treasurer
Linda Schaffer- Secretary
Eugene Maxey- Board Member
Keith Cantrell- Board Member
Rose Nabity- Board Member
Amanda Knoll-Board Member
Richard Hofstetter- Board Member
Congratulations to all of you.
At the board meeting the board voted to raise the cost of the meal from $5.00 to $6.00 effective April 1st.
Yes, it will be the same great food we have been serving.
I would like to recognize Rickie Moncrief as volunteer of the week. Rickie has been there for the center, knowing that she had other things to do, dropping that and coming right in.
Rickie has been working 25 or 30 hours a week on most weeks. Can’t say enough about this dedicated volunteer. Thank you for your dedication, from all your friends at the senior center.
If you would like to volunteer, please call Cindy at 573-674-3558.
We really need kitchen help if you can lend a hand.
Missouri’s Senator, Carla Eslinger came to our center last Wednesday to ask if we had any questions, and also played a little ping pong. She also brought us a new U.S. Flag and a New Missouri flag. We are also looking into buying a new flag pole soon.
The teacher was terrified to hear Little Johnny swear. “I never want you to use language like that again. Where on earth did you pick it up?” “From my father.” said Little Johnny. “Well, he should be ashamed of himself. And it’s no reason for you to talk like that. You don’t even know what it means.” “I do.” said Little Johnny. “It means the car won’t start.”
John 11:25–26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
