SENIOR HAPPENINGS - December 30, 2020
Cynthia Wampner
Hello to everyone from all of us at the Licking Senior center. I hope you all had a merry Christmas, and I know we’re all looking forward to a Happy New Year.
We were all saddened by the loss of Shirley Ramsey this last week. Shirley spent a lot of time at the Bridge Builders, playing canasta and pinochle. She was a dedicated member when she felt well. We will miss her dearly.
I am still contemplating on opening the dining room after the first of the year. But not set in stone yet. Just want to see how things go after Christmas.
We still need volunteers to work in kitchen, if you are interested, please contact Cindy at 573-674-3558.
If you are a member and you support the Love Your Center Campaign, 2021 is underway. If you pay $60.00 for a whole year, you will receive 2 free meals in return. This money helps pay for all utilities and expenses monthly. Please support your local senior center. This is how we keep doing what we do is because of the community support.
Little Johnny is always being teased by the other neighborhood boys for being stupid. Their favorite joke is to offer Johnny his choice between a nickel and a dime Little Johnny always takes the nickel. One day, after Johnny takes the nickel, a neighbor takes him aside and says, "Johnny, those boys are making fun of you. Don't you know that a dime is worth more than a nickel, even though the nickel's bigger?" Johnny grins and says, "Well, if I took the dime, they'd stop doing it, and so far I've made $20!"
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
